Bankruptcy
You are not alone if you have found yourself drowning in debt and owing more on your car than you do on your home.

For SOME people I can promise to

1.  Eliminate principal owed
     on their house.
2.  Reduce your car payments.
3.  Eliminate your credit card debt.
4.  Reduce mortgages on your rental
     properties to fair market value.

Do I qualify?
The general rule of thumb:

Chapter 7  - ($99 to begin for attorney representation)
You could probably benefit from a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy if your mortgage and car payments are current, you do not owe child support or taxes, however you have credit card debt you need to get out from under, being sued, wages garnished or bank accounts being levied.  There are a number of other qualifications and rules you must meet in order to qualify.  You absolutely should consult with an attorney in order to see if you qualify.

Grace, can you lower my car loan payments?
There is a very good chance I can lower your car payment
AND
reduce the amount you owe on the account
AND
Lower your interest rate on the loan!

But. . . . (there is always a but) . . . Unless your bank is willing to do it voluntarily, and some will. . . . you will have to file for bankruptcy under Chapter 13.  But you will have to meet certain requirements.  Call me to find out if your vehicle qualifies!
If your car has been repossessed within the last 20 DAYS
I may be able to help you get it back without having to pay back anything that you owe on it.  If you intend to keep it you will have to begin making payments.  BUT I can lower those payments for you.
Chapter 13 - ($499 to begin for attorney representation)
If you have income, you could probably benefit from a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.  I start with the same question for all of my potential clients.

"If I could modify your car payment, eliminate your 2nd mortgage, and get rid of the credit card payments, could you afford your 1st mortgage even without a modification?"

If the answer is yes, then chances are they could hang on to their car and home and gain a fresh start by filing Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.  But even if you don't have a home or a car, if you owe other debts which must be paid, you could possibly benefit.  Whether you are behind on mortgage payments, car payments, owe taxes or child support, in most cases we can help you formulate a payment plan which gives you the breathing room you need.  Again, there are complex rules involved with this sort of bankruptcy.  It is extremely rare a non-attorney can do this process on their own.  Legal assistance is highly recommended.
